Great Day!

I went on a little adventure today. Dan and I drove into NYC (yes, I drove) to attend the Ordination of our home Parish Priest! We have been officially welcomed into ROCOR, and he, along with our Deacons and Sub-Deacon, needed to be received into the Diocese through a re-Ordination service.

I have never attended an Eastern Rite Orthodox service before. Aside from the fact that 98% of the service was in Russian, it was beautiful.

One sour note to the day: I got a parking ticket. Figures.

I told you so.

See? I suck at updating my blog. What's funny is, I wish I wasn't. I wish I even had some followers! Doesn't look like I do though -- because you can't count Travis. Since he's my cat. And I do all of his typing.

Nothing much going on. We had a family get-together in June at my cousin Tammy's place. It was so great to see everyone -- especially my younger second cousins (who aren't children anymore). Kind of surreal. I feel so old. Take Patrick for instance. I remember his Christening like it was yesterday. I was holding him that day, and he was so HEAVY! The kid was a beast. He's bigger than me now! But then, so is my 14 year old nephew. He was measured the other day and he's about 1/4 inch shy of 6'2". When my sister told me that today, I said to her "Don't worry -- he'll be 6'2" by tomorrow morning. He's part mushroom.

Oh well.

If I didn't mention it before, I am absolutely horrible about updating blogs.

Lots happened since my last post. We were going to move -- so we were very busy apartment hunting. We FINALLY found a place, but when we went to switch over the insurance and stuff, the costs wanted to double (who'd have thought that insurance rates in PA are double that in NJ?) so we had to pull the plug on the whole thing.

Of course, by then, we were half packed -- so then we had to UNpack. Then cleaning and cleaning. In between all of that, lots of overtime for me. Then undoing what had already been arranged.

Then last week, my husband's brother passed away suddenly. Rocky was more a brother to me than a brother-in-law -- and he was only 45. So last week was difficult. We are all okay though -- and we know that Rocky is in a better place.

Maybe third time's a charm -- my previous two personal blog spots had to be shut down due to circumstances beyond my control. Hopefully this one will work for me.

I'll be updating as often as I can. In the meantime, if you have any tips for me on using this site, feel free to offer suggestions!
